Research Project

My research project is based on the relevance of traditional advertising mediums in today's society.

I would hugely appreciate if you could take part in this short survey.

And here it is.

Foolishly with time stretched, Ive decided to go back to my first love, motion graphics. Viral marketing is littered with self mockery, If your anything like me your opinion of lawyers drops every time you see those awful 'no win no fee' adverts. When I think of these solicitors, I see ambulance chasers, with pound signs in their eyes and a painted on smile. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this way, so I wanted to use that image, but how?

These solicitors try to portray themselves as Samaritans, who's only concern is looking after their clients welfare. So I thought of something that is universally kind comforting and could do you no harm, A teddy bear. What if these teddy bears were not as they seemed, what if they were more like grizzly bears. Its that 'wolf in sheep's clothing' perception we have of personal injury solicitors. It also throws up some interesting imagery.

Ive started some character development, and have good idea of the overall style of the piece, along with the plot. I will fill you in with in a later post.

In the meantime here is my first character, the protagonist of the piece.

Client Project No1

Welcome

I have been working with Actions solicitor's personal injury department, to create a viral advertisement. An interesting brief I thought, viral campaigns in this particular industry is rare and couldn't help but get involved with something that is potently breaking new ground. I foolishly thought this would be just be a tricky subject , I can now see why you don't see personal injury marketing within this medium. Progress has been painfully slow, the first couple of ideas I pitched absolutely bombed. The next idea created a bit more interest before my client performed a complete180, deciding that they hated that idea too.

Oh well, Ive still got one more idea up my sleeve.
